I am searching for the Runyon family living in New York in the late 1700s-early 1800s. I have an Ann Mariah Runyon probably born 1817 who married Hugh Byers. The family ends up in Ingham Co, MI. Help!

Big Y results have posted for three Runions cousins and the haplogroup R-FT19077 that all Runyan/Runyon descendants share. is beginning to show mutations. With these three new tests two new haplogroups have emerged, R-FTC36144 and R-FTC35353. These haplogroups represent the Runions that migrated from New Jersey into upstate New York and Canada.

This is exciting news! Please consider Y DNA testing and joining the Runyon/Runyan surname project on FTDNA.

This has been an exciting morning for me! We had a Y DNA test came through this morning from a 6xg grandson of Benjamin Runions. The Y DNA test verifies our line does descend from Vincent Rongnion and therefore we are related to all of the Runyan/Runyon's of New Jersey as well as those that migrated south. Now to find the parents of Jonathan Runions b abt 1725!

  • I'm a descendant of Benjamin Runions b 1752 baptized in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess, New York, d abt 1839 in Osnabruck, Stormont, Ontario. I am looking for a male descendant of Benjamin's that carries the Runions surname that might be willing to do a Y DNA test.   • There are a group of us working to prove/disprove that Benjamin Runions and Henry Runions b abt 1760 probably, Mohawk Valley, New York, d 1838 in Cornwall, Ontario were siblings. We recently had a descendant of Henry Runions complete a Y DNA test. That test confirms Henry is a descendant of Vincent Rongnion b 1645 in France d 1713, New Jersey. I have quite a bit of research on both Henry & Benjamin and am happy to answer any questions you may have.
